This is a primary conveyor belt cleaner, also known as a belt scraper or wiper, for 30-inch wide conveyor systems commonly found in concrete batch plants. Mounted on the face of the head pulley, it is the first stage in a cleaning system, designed to remove the majority of bulk material like sand, aggregate, and cement that sticks to the belt after discharge. Installing a belt cleaner is critical for plant maintenance and efficiency; it prevents fugitive material from falling and accumulating under the conveyor, which reduces cleanup labor, minimizes material loss, and prevents premature wear on rollers and idlers. This assembly typically consists of a durable urethane blade on a steel mainframe with a tensioning system to maintain consistent pressure against the belt.
