This product is a coiled steel spring guard that functions as a boot or 'Seal Saver' for hydraulic cylinders. It is specifically used on the lift axle (tag axle) cylinders of rear-discharge concrete mixers. The telescopic spring design allows it to expand and contract with the cylinder's movement, shielding the polished cylinder rod from damaging dirt, rocks, concrete spatter, and other abrasive materials. Replacing a damaged boot is critical preventative maintenance to avoid costly failure of the hydraulic cylinder seals and rod.
