The Bendix 065154 is an LQ-5 series pressure proportioning valve designed for the air brake systems of heavy-duty vehicles like mixer trucks. Its primary function is to modulate the brake pressure on a specific axle, usually the front, to enhance braking performance and stability when the truck is operating without a trailer (bobtailing). By limiting brake pressure at the front axle during normal operation and allowing full pressure in bobtail mode, it prevents wheel lock-up and improves control. This valve is a critical safety and performance component for replacing a worn or faulty original valve, ensuring the brake system functions as designed.
Improves braking performance and tractor control in bobtail mode.
Features 3/8-18 NPT supply and delivery ports.
Includes a 1/8-27 NPT control port.
Can be used on front or rear axle applications on long wheelbase vehicles.
Replaces the Bendix LQ-4 ratio valve.
Fits These Mixers
McNeilus, Con-Tech, CBMW, Kimble. Fits various heavy-duty trucks and tractors, including McNeilus and Con-Tech mixers, that specify a front axle ratio valve in the air brake system. It is often used on the front (steering) axle to limit brake pressure. It can also be used on the rear axle group of long wheelbase vehicles. A quick release or relay valve must be installed between the LQ-5 valve's delivery port and the brake chambers.
All measurements ± standard manufacturing tolerance.
