The McNeilus Bridgemaster V (BMV) Latch Assembly is a critical safety and operational component for rear discharge mixer trucks equipped with a Bridgemaster 5 trailing axle. This assembly secures the trailer axle in the raised, stowed position when the truck is empty or maneuvering, preventing accidental deployment. It houses the latch hook mechanism and integrates with the hydraulic release cylinder and tension springs to lock and unlock the axle. Replacing a worn or damaged latch assembly ensures the trailing axle remains securely locked out of the way, maintaining compliance with road safety standards and preventing damage to the axle components.
