The McNeilus Hydraulic High Flow Block is a critical control component located at the front (barrel) end of the Bridgemaster or BridgeKing trailer cylinder on rear discharge mixer trucks. It contains a 70 GPM high-pressure relief valve (HPRV) that relieves pressures over 3,200 PSI to the reservoir, protecting the hydraulic system from pressure spikes if the accumulator is flat. Additionally, it features a pilot-to-shift (PTS) cartridge with a .025 orifice that controls the shifting of the trailer hook cylinder. This block is essential for maintaining safe and controlled operation of the trailer axle system, preventing unintentional lowering or damage during operation.
